Family Staycation at Hey Jude Resort Hotel Boracay

Booking Details:

After confirming the free tickets to Boracay which I got from my Get Go Rewards, I immediately checked the available hotels in Boracay accredited by the Department of Tourism (DoT) and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).  With the six months rehabilitation of Boracay in 2018,  there were establishments ordered closed down due to non-compliance with environmental laws.  Also, as tourist quota of 19,000 was still being observed since Boracay re-opened in October 2018, it became mandatory to have a confirmed hotel booking before one can enter Boracay Islands.  So,after going through the selection process taking into consideration our available budget, the guest reviews and proximity to the beach front, i decided to book Hey Jude Resort Hotel for three days and two nights stay.

Check-in and Stay:

We had an arranged transport from Caticlan Airport to our hotel which I got from Budgetaway Travel and Tours.  Considering that it was our family's first visit in Boracay, I had kids in tow and I had no clue on how to get to our destination,  I just needed to have an arranged transport to prevent spoiling our family's holiday.  When we arrived in Caticlan Airport at past 1PM, the assigned driver was already waiting for us and ushered us to the waiting van.  It took 15 minutes drive to Caticlan Jetty Port where we needed to take a ferry going to Boracay Island.  At the jetty port, we were guided by the transport representative  to the ferry boat that took us to Cagban Port in the Island of Boracay.  The ferry ride from Caticlan Jetty Port to Cagban Port was around twenty minutes. There were entrance formalities that we needed to go through before we were given clearance to leave the port like registration process and validation of our hotel booking.  From the port, we were again guided by the transport representative to the van that took us to Hey Jude.  Thank goodness that it was a smooth airport to hotel transfer.  

When we arrived at the hotel, there were three foreign female tourists who looked too exhausted and almost crying as they seemed to be lost.  I just overheard that they only rode a tricycle that took them there not knowing that it was the wrong hotel.  The kind hotel staff assisted them and arranged another tricycle to take them to their destination.  After that, the staff accommodated us.  I was really glad that I decided to have our transport arranged or we might also end up lost somewhere.

I shown my booking voucher and the staff processed our check-in immediately.  In less than five minutes, she provided us the key to our assigned room at the fourth floor.  The hotel has no lift but they have bellboys who assisted with our luggage.  The room was spacious enough to accommodate couple with three kids.  There were two double-sized beds, complete with room amenities.  The hotel is right at D'Mall which is a popular place in Boracay where souvenir shops and restaurants abound.  The hotel is not right at the beach-front, but it is only around 2-3 minutes walk to white beach.  At around 3PM, my kids already wanted to wade at the beach.  It was good that the hotel provided beach towel for us all.  We just spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing there waiting for the sun to set for a great photo souvenir.  

The next day, a sumptuous breakfast was prepared for us which was included in our accommodation.  The restaurant is located at the seventh floor of the hotel  When we get back to our room, it was already cleaned and the bed was made up.  Overall, we had a very relaxing stay at Hey Jude Resort Hotel in Boracay. 

Checkout:

We requested the hotel to serve us breakfast at 6AM since we will be leaving early.  Although the restaurant is only open at 7AM, they were kind enough to accommodate our request.   We had an early morning checkout since we will be fetched at 7AM by our arranged transport.  The checkout time was also a breeze and we did not have any problems with it. 😄
