Family Staycation at Hotel Jen Manila

Day 2 Family Adventure - Legoland Malaysia

We had an early morning flight from Manila to Singapore on a Saturday, November 14, 2015.  We had an original flight schedule of Friday night but due to some adjustment by our airline, our flight and everything was reset. Those things really happen and I have no other choice but to rearrange our itinerary.  It was a good thing that we had not yet bought our ticket for Legoland when our Friday flight was cancelled as we really intend to have a Saturday Legoland trip.  In fairness, I was informed by the airline about the cancellation of our Friday flight two weeks before our schedule and at that time I was having trouble booking an online ticket for Legoland, that saved me a lot of worries. ;-) Must have been a good case of "coincidence"...ho! ho! ho!

I just bought the ticket for Legoland about seven days ahead of our intended visit and I picked a Sunday date to give allowance for our travel time.  So it was Manila-Singapore on a Saturday and Singapore - Malaysia-Singapore on a Sunday.  The park tickets that we bought online was emailed to me. Ohh..the best thing was I did not have to buy ticket for my two-year old, she can enter the park for free.

Aside from the park tickets, I also had to book our bus from Singapore to Legoland.  I booked through busonlineticket.com which I find very convenient and reliable. From the choices available, I picked the WTS bus that departs from the Singapore Flyer directly to Legoland Malaysia.  I picked an early 8:30 AM schedule so we will be in Legoland in time for its opening hours of 10AM. Again, my two year old was free in the bus..she will not occupy a seat anyway as she prefers to sit on my lap.

On Saturday, we arrived in Singapore at past 9AM.  In the afternoon, we explored the Marina Bay Sands, I will post another article about our Marina Bay Sands photowalk tour.

Come Sunday, we headed straight to Singapore Flyer where the WTS bus station is located.  We arrived there at past 8AM and departed at exactly 8:30.  By the way, for this trip, we passed through Singapore immigration to have our passports stamped since we will be departing Singapore.  So the bus guide informed us to alight the bus then after we were through the process, we rode on the same bus.  We had another stop, this time at the Malaysian immigration to have our visitor pass stamped on our passports.  It was a good thing that we picked an early trip so we did not have to waste time falling in line at the immigration counter.  We arrived in Johor Bahru Malaysia at around 9:45 AM.  It was a very comfortable bus ride even if I got a toddler with me.

Although we already took our breakfast, our first stop inside the park was the restaurant. :-)  Kids really have very demanding tummies, you know.  Right there at the entrance is The Cafe that serves pasta and sandwiches. So we had tuna sandwich, lasagna and drinks.

After our fulfilling meal, we noticed that the weather changed from sunny to cloudy to rainy.  We stayed some more minutes inside the cafe as we only had one umbrella that will not be enough for the eight of us. Good thing that the heavy rain stopped in a while that afforded us sometime to get to the place for indoor activities.  We stopped by Lego Technic where indoor activities in fully air-conditioned rooms can be played by kids and kids at heart.  I accompanied my little daughter in the Lego Mindstorm while others from our group look for their own adventure.

They fetched us in no time and we all headed to Lego Starwars Miniland.  It was fascinating to see those Starwars characters made from Lego blocks.  There were interactive model display of spaceships too which were all made of bricks.

We were amazed at this interactive playground with all its special effects and sounds.  And to think that it was made of Lego bricks make it more special, true work of art of people with creative minds.

After our Starwars adventure, we were excited to try the rides outdoor but it was raining heavily that time.  As we did  not want to miss precious time because of the rain, we decided to buy a poncho that sells at RM12 at the store right there at Starwars Mini Adventureland.  Even the rain could not stop us from having our kind of fun so we strolled amidst the rain. ;-)

We reached the Lego Kingdoms and tried roller coaster ride at The Dragon's Apprentice.  My toddler was not allowed in this ride (that's why she had free entrance since she is not allowed in most of the rides).  But being a kid-friendly park, there was a place right at the entrance of each ride where children can be busy playing with legos while the parents had their fun time at the rides.  I never tried The Forestmen's Hideout as this is a more complicated ride with longer track and more loops that will surely send me to dizzyland ha!ha!ha!

We saw an observation tower at Imagination and rode that one too. It gave us a bird's eye view of the whole Legoland.  After this we watched the stage play at Lego City Stage titled Lego Ninjago Live.  It was a live performance combined with 4D special effects.  After the show, we headed to Lego City where we rode the Legoland Express, a bright colored lego shaped train.  It was a relaxing ride where we get to explore the theme park.  With this ride, we were able to see other attractions that sparked our interest like the remote control boat, the Miniland and other exciting rides at the Land of Adventure. We were surprised to find our very own Bolinao Province here at Legoland Malaysia.
