Family Staycation at Hotel Jen Manila

Spending the Last Hours In Universal Studios

It was past four o’clock in the afternoon when we finished in the Rapids, the kids were still too energetic that they wanted to seek out other rides. The most exciting ones that we did not try like the Canopy Flyer, the Amber Rock Climb, Enchanted Airways and others were more than thirty minutes waiting time because of long queue and we figured out there were very little time left since USS rides were up until 6pm only.

The kids wanted to try the Battlestar Galactica but it was under maintenance. Oh, just the look at how complicated the loops in this ride were, guess it would be another heart-dropping one just like the Revenge of the Mummy. Too curious on what to see at the Treasure Hunters, we lined up at this one and it took thirty-five minutes of our valuable time before we had our turn. We rode on a remote-controlled jeep then strolled our way through roads of archeological thingamabob. That was a less daring ride suitable for young children where you only need to sit and enjoy the panorama for about fifteen minutes. After our Treasure Hunters ride, we bought some drinks from the food kiosk using our remaining food stubs. My little daughter wanted to ride in the Dino-soarin again so we went there for another precious but giddy bonding moment while my son and her aunt tried the Canopy Flyer. We were through at Dino-soarin in no time while the two were still stuck in line so we decided to go around for some photo shoot.

It was almost 6PM and rides were already close, we made another round of stroll all over until we landed at New York. Hollywood Boulevard was where people gathered after the closing of rides, there was a dance performance being held that time. This was also where most souvenir shops were located and also the entrance and exit road. Although we already pass by the stores during our first hours at USS, we really did not take time to look for things to buy since we did not want to miss the schedule for the Shrek 4D Adventure which was shown at around 11:30 AM.

As the saying goes, “save the best for last” so the last activity that we did at USS was nothing else but shopping (that was the best part, or just a different level of luring activity). We wanted to buy souvenir items for each of us using our retail coupons but we hardly find any item below SGD 5. My son wanted to buy a Lost World souvenir shirt that sells for SGD 25 so we just donated all our retail coupons to him to buy his find. We could not resist dispensing cash for collectible items which were eventually given out to dear people back home.

Although we were not able to try other rides and attractions due to time constraint, the kids had a great time there and they really found it not only enjoyable but very memorable. We might have spent a fortune for USS but we think they were all worth it. The happy memories and enjoyable bonding moments we shared as a family were truly PRICELESS =) and that what matters most.

  4. Hi jayce, the place is never too far away if you really like to get there. =) It is just a matter of planning. We came from across the miles just to visit a place like that and it was all worth it.
