More Leisure Time at the Dolphin Lagoon

When we purchased the ticket for Underwater World, I can’t help converting the SGD 20 amount to our own currency’s equivalent which is more than six hundred pesos. I really thought it was a little pricey compared to the ticket price in the same attraction we have in our country, the Manila Ocean Park that sells for PHP 450. When the cashier handed me over the tickets and told me of the inclusion of a dolphin show and sea lion show, I was more than surprised and happy that my kids will get to see not only the swimming fishes inside big aquariums but also the pink dolphins and sea lions showcasing their antics and intellects, that was a good deal after all. We spent more than an hour roaming inside the tunnel, stopped at one tank after another, visited the souvenir shop then we went to the nearby Dolphin Lagoon for the afternoon Dolphin Show.

It was few minutes before 1:00 PM and we were supposed to be having our lunch already but nobody seemed to be feeling hungry at all. Maybe aside from being excessively absorbed with astonishment, we were still full from our late morning heavy snack thus nobody complained of being hungry. We were some minutes early for the show but we all decided to stay at the lagoon anticipating a big crowd thus we never left our place where we sat comfortably. We just bought some snacks and ate right there at the bleachers while waiting (eating is allowed here). We were able to see the training and feeding sessions prior to the presentation and took close up photos of the dolphins. The actual show lasted for almost thirty minutes and I can see how my kids appreciated every minute of it. We left the Dolphin Lagoon and went back inside the Underwater World to watch feeding sessions but went back at the Dolphin Lagoon in no time to catch the Sea Lion Show. There were no more seats when we arrived but we were able to squeeze our way on the topmost bleacher and watch up there while standing. Yes I noticed a big difference on the level of appreciation between watching while comfortably seated and while we were standing because my little daughter was already beginning to be restless and annoyed and it was having a domino effect among us. But despite of that, we still enjoyed it, finished it and picked up the significance of the show.
